Current Information
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the jury’s final decision on the architectural competition along with all subsequent planning steps must be delayed. We will inform the public as soon as a new schedule has been established.


The Competition
The Stiftung Exilmuseum is presently implementing an architectural competition for the realization of a new museum building in coordination with the Berlin Senate and the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The project commission will be awarding the most convincing design concept that responds to all of the building’s programmatic, spatial, and design requirements in addition to meeting rigorous standards of urban planning and historical preservation.

Ten architectural offices are currently developing designs. These are:
