In November 2021, diggers arrived at Anhalter Bahnhof ready to explore the grounds and investigate what’s hidden beneath the surface. Might we find foundations of the historic train station? Tunnels? Old ammunition? The whole process will be accompanied by archaeologists and supervised by an explosive ordnance disposal squad. Other parties involved are the Offices for the Preservation of Monuments and of Archaeological Sites, and industrial archaeologists from the Berlin Technikmuseum. The results will significantly impact the development of our project.
