Announcing the Winner
And the winner is ... Dorte Mandrup! The Danish architectural office garnered first prize in the architectural competition for the Exilmuseum Berlin. Jurors were won over by the design's curving façade, which appears to embrace the portico ruin of the former Anhalter Bahnhof. Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir, who chaired the jury, noted of the design: “It succeeds in creating a powerful place of encounter through its setting within the urban fabric and its sensitive handling of the portico ruins.”
